Ethos has risen to the challenge in providing good data to users of heating plant who do not have a measure of their plant performance or the plant load requirements. The benefits are that Ethos offers comprehensive information that facilitates informed decisions on investment in new plant and provides actual performance data to help quantify payback and demonstrate the benefit of investment. This is particularly useful when switching to equipment such as heat pumps. Gorbals project – to ensure the correct capacity of heat pump would be installed for the Gorbals Project Star Renewable Energy SRE employed the services of Star Technical Solutions STS to perform energy monitoring using Ethos. This allowed accurate measurement of flowrate, ambient temperature, boiler on and off temperature to enable calculation of how the load varied throughout the day.
